Jump to RecipeOats have been a staple in many diets for centuries and, in recent years, have been cherished for their health benefits. Moreover, Greek yogurt is packed with protein and probiotic properties, gaining popularity as a healthy food as well. Both ingredients have become go-to options for those looking to eat more wholesome and balanced meals. One of the reasons for the popularity of these Oats Yogurt Cups is their versatility, as you can fill the crispy base with your favorite ingredients, such as fruits, honey, nut butters, and seeds.
Moreover, these sweet cups require minimal time and are the perfect idea for meal-prepping. In this regard, you can assemble the ingredients in advance, preparing a big batch for the week, ready to grab and go. The mix of carbs, protein, and healthy fats makes the Oats Yogurt Cups ideal for providing energy throughout the day. The oats provide slow-release carbs, while the yogurt supplies protein, and peanut butter add a dose of healthy fats.
You can store the Oats Yogurt Cups in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3-4 days to preserve their texture and prevent them from becoming too soggy. If you make them in advance, you might want to store the oats and yogurt separately in different containers. Finally, you can freeze the oat base without the yogurt filling in individual servings and thaw them in the refrigerator overnight before eating.
Ingredients for healthy oats cups

- Oats: they provide the foundation of the Oats Yogurt Cups, binding the other ingredients together and creating a cohesive structure. Oats absorb excess moisture released from peanut butter. Rolled oats are rich in fiber, which is beneficial for digestion, and provide a good source of energy due to their carbohydrates. I use certified gluten-free oats, making the raw balls suitable for those with gluten sensitivities or following a gluten-free diet.
- Peanut butter: this creamy nut spread creates a cohesive mixture, binding the other components together. I use peanut butter, but others options, like the almond butter, also pair well. Peanut butter provides energy, promotes satiety, and is a good source of vitamins.
- Honey: it balances the tartness of yogurt and the earthiness of oats. Additionally, when mixed with oats, this natural sweetener helps bind the ingredients together, creating a cohesive texture. For a plant-based alternative, you can substitute honey with agave syrup or maple syrup.

How to prepare yogurt cups
In a large bowl, combine the rolled oats with peanut butter, cinnamon, a pinch of salt, and honey. Stir with a spatula until a thick dough forms.

Brush the muffin tins with melted butter to prevent the mixture from sticking. Then, evenly distribute the oat mixture into the tins, forming little cups. Bake in the oven at 175°C for about 15-20 minutes. Once cooked, remove the cups from the molds and let cool to room temperature.

Fill the cups with some Greek yogurt and top with some berries.

My tips for crunchy oats yogurt cups
- Before mixing, warm the peanut butter and honey in the microwave for 10-20 seconds. This will help everything blend smoothly with the oats and makes stirring easier.
- Letting the shaped cups rest in the fridge for 10-15 minutes before baking can help hold their shape better in the oven.
- Alternative toppings: banana and chocolate chips, apples and a drizzle of almond butter, or mango with coconut flakes.
